An investigation by the daily La Repubblica reveals the ‘counterfeit ticket scam’ that has been affecting Atac, the local public transport company, for several years. The company itself would have printed fake travel tickets for official retailers, diverting approximately 70 million euros per year off the balance sheet. A colossal scam in which users are unwittingly involved.
