2004
“Born on the internet, as explained by the organizers in the invitation, it is “the first free, nomadic, and irregular drive-in with a 35mm projection on a big screen, to be listened to on FM on your car radio.” It all started on the web, where for about ten days, an email has been circulating announcing that a parking lot in the capital would become a drive-in for one night only. The same message is reported in flyers distributed in the city’s venues. The only reference is the website www.flashdrivein.net, where, just one day before the event, following the rave model, instructions for the first “flash drive-in” are given, including location, time, and the title of the scheduled film.” La Repubblica
